ST. LOUIS — Intercard is pleased to announce that its Impulse Plus reader received an honorable mention at the 2026 Golden Ticket Awards in the best innovation category. On September 12, 2026, Amusement Today presented awards in 22 categories determined by results from an international poll consisting of more than 500 ballots sent to knowledgeable people within the industry. The awards ceremony was held at the new COTALand theme park in Austin, Texas.
The innovative Impulse Plus reader for arcade games doesn’t need to be connected to a kiosk. It connects directly to Intercard’s cloud-based management system, which includes a secure payment gateway, via WiFi or cellular at the individual game. It has a rugged, durable design that’s great for outdoor use. Moving to a new location is easy. The operator simply boots up the readers, connects to a cellular network and the games are ready to play. This makes it ideal for arcade operators at fairs and carnivals.
The Impulse Plus accepts more types of payments (including credit cards, play cards and mobile pay), makes more upsells and can increase revenues by as much as 20%. It also allows operators to capture credit card users while continuing to use coin-op games. The Impulse Plus can deliver reports of cash and credit card revenues on demand via mobile device.
