PITTSBURGH, Pa. — Kennywood is taking screams to the extreme this fall as Phantom Fall Fest creeps out of the shadows this September. Offering guests new ways to do Halloween their way, the signature event will feature family-friendly activities during the day, then at 6 p.m. the fear kicks into gear.
This fall, Kennywood will offer more all-new ways for visitors to get into the fall spirit. Details include:
- NEW! Fall Fest Tasting Experience – An all-new fall menu invites hungry parkgoers to taste their way around the lagoon. Featuring specialty food items like a delicious potato kielbasa skillet, smoked sausage mac and cheese, and maple cinnamon sweet potato fries, along with seasonal beers. New this year, visitors are encouraged to grab a Fall Fest Tasting Card to mix and match samples.
- NEW! Trick or Treating – Lord Kenneth Ghostwood is opening his estate during the day for a one-of-a-kind trick-or-treating experience. The kiddos are invited to meet not-so-spooky spirits, collect candy, and navigate Kennywood’s most haunted hideaway in an all-new light.
- NEW! Ghostwood Estate: Open House – Then at night, Lord Kenneth Ghostwood invites brave visitors to explore his esteemed estate like never before, with scares lurking in the shadows. Abandon the buggy and ghost blaster and travel on foot through the dark, winding halls of Kennywood’s seventh haunt.
Phantom Fall Fest features seven haunts and four scare zones that take over each night at 6 p.m., including the park’s fan-favorite haunt, Detached. The Puppet Master is back for a second season and daring visitors are invited to join him on his delusional quest to put on the perfect show has only led him deeper into madness. Other returning haunted attractions include mAlice in Wonderland Unleashed, Shady Grove, Dark Shadows, and more.
“Phantom Fall Fest gives our guests the freedom to celebrate Halloween their way,” said Ricky Spicuzza, general manager of Kennywood and Sandcastle. “Families can spend the day enjoying fall flavors, trick-or-treating, and classic rides before the park transforms into Pittsburgh’s premier Halloween destination after dark.”
Throughout the fall event, visitors can enjoy more than 30 rides and attractions. Including classics like the Jack Rabbit and Kangaroo along with thrilling coasters like the Steel Curtain and award-winning Phantom’s Revenge. On Saturdays and Sundays, families can also enjoy a variety of more mild attractions in Kiddieland and Kennywood Junction from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Phantom Fall Fest will run on select days from Saturday, September 12 through Sunday, November 1. Visitors will be able to enjoy the park from 6 p.m. until 11 p.m. on Fridays, 12 p.m. until 11 p.m. on Saturdays and 12 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Sundays.
Kennywood sister park, Idlewild & SoakZone will begin its longest HALLOWBOO! season ever on Saturday, September 12 running Saturdays and Sundays through October 31. The beloved fall event features trick-or-treating through Story Book Forest, festive decorations, themed entertainment, seasonal foods, and many of guests’ favorite rides and attractions in a not-so-spooky Halloween atmosphere designed especially for families with young children. Sandcastle Water Park continues its summer season through Labor Day Weekend. Visitors looking to get one more splash in during summer ’26 can visit select days through September 7.
To get the most out of the rest of the season, visitors can save up to $60 on 2027 Season Passes when they purchase online. 2027 Gold and Platinum Season Passes include the rest of the 2026 season for free. Platinum Season Passes start at just 10 payments of $19 each and include access to Kennywood, Idlewild & SoakZone and Sandcastle for the reminder of the 2026 season and the entire 2027 season.
