NASHVILLE, Tenn. — After nearly six decades of helping people make cool memories, ICEE is introducing a new annual tradition. On Tuesday, Aug. 18, the brand will debut its first National ICEE Day, dedicated to America’s Original Frozen Beverage and the generations of fans who have made it part of their favorite memories. Timed to celebrate the final days of summer before the back-to-school season, National ICEE Day will return every August.
To mark the inaugural National ICEE Day, ICEE has collaborated with Walmart Fuel, Krystal, Urban Air Adventure Park, AMC Theatres and Regal Cinemas to offer a small free ICEE at more than 1,800 participating locations nationwide on Aug. 18, while supplies last. No purchase is necessary at participating Walmart Fuel and Krystal locations. Admission or a valid ticket is required at participating Urban Air Adventure Park, AMC Theatres and Regal Cinemas locations.
“For decades, ICEE has been part of unforgettable moments for millions of fans, and National ICEE Day is our way of thanking everyone who has made the brand part of those memories,” said Dan Fachner, president and CEO of J&J Snack Foods, ICEE’s parent company. “We’re excited to introduce an annual tradition people can look forward to every August. Whether it’s your first ICEE or your hundredth, it’s a chance to celebrate the generations of fans who have made ICEE part of their lives while creating new memories together.”
Here’s how to take part in the first National ICEE Day:
- Enjoy a Small Free ICEE: Visit a participating Walmart Fuel or Krystal location on Aug. 18 for a small free ICEE, no purchase necessary. A small free ICEE will also be available with admission at participating Urban Air Adventure Park locations and with a valid ticket at participating AMC Theatres and Regal Cinemas locations. All offers are available while supplies last.
- Enter for the chance to win exciting prizes like an At Home ICEE Machine! Share an Instagram or Facebook story featuring your free ICEE on Aug. 18 and use #NID2026 and tag @TheICEECompany to be entered for a chance to win exciting prizes. Since 1967, ICEE has become a staple of movie nights, amusement park adventures, road trips, convenience store stops and everyday celebrations. National ICEE Day builds on that legacy by giving fans one more reason to celebrate each August.
