ALTOONA, Iowa — Phantom Fall Fest debuts for its fifth season at Adventureland on Saturday, Sept. 26. This year, visitors will take a twisted path into Wonderland in the park’s newest experience, MALICE: Jabberwocky’s Revenge, set to debut on opening night.
Phantom Fall Fest invites guests to play all day and fright all night with five haunted houses and four scare zones. Those brave enough to face the new MALICE: Jabberwocky’s Revenge will step through the rabbit hole into an oversized nightmare where classic childhood tales twist into something dark. Guests will shrink in terror inside Alice’s bedroom, navigate the disorienting and claustrophobic halls of Dormouse’s hidden home, and ultimately come face-to-face with the monstrous Jabberwocky.
“Phantom Fall Fest is all about giving our guests new ways to experience Adventureland after dark, and MALICE: Jabberwocky’s Revenge takes that idea to a whole new level,” said Mike Lusky, general manager of Adventureland. “We’ve taken a story guests know and love and turned it into an oversized nightmare filled with unexpected twists, massive sets and plenty of surprises.”
For guests who want to keep the scares going, the fear kicks into gear each night after 6 p.m. with the new-in-2025, Spell Keeper, CarnEvil, Cornstalkers, and Spirits of the Swamp. Throughout the park, guests can take the fear up to 10 with four scare zones, Deadsville, Nordic Nightmare, The Fallen, and Hellbillies.
Families looking to enjoy the fall season at Adventureland can play all day on Saturdays and Sundays from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m. The park’s trick or treat trail features four spots along Main Street and plenty of candy, Bubble Dance Parties take over the Boulevard, and Pumpkin Painting at Oinks invites even the smallest of guests to pick and paint their very own pumpkin. For those looking for a little competition, scream contests, costume contests, and scary-oke will take place daily at Oinks.
Adventureland’s beloved rides and attractions will also be open throughout the fall season. During the day, guests can enjoy several family friendly rides including Flying Viking, Lighthouse, Rockin’ Rainbow, and more. Throughout the day and all evening long the park’s most iconic thrill rides will be open and ready for riders including Monster, Dragon Slayer, Pheonix, and more.
Phantom Fall Fest will run select days from Sept. 26 through Oct. 31. The park will be open select Fridays from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. and Saturdays from 12 p.m. until 10 p.m and Sundays from 12 p.m. until 9 p.m. Guests looking to visit throughout Phantom Fall Fest and the 2027 season can save up to $60 on 2027 Season Passes now.
