PortAventura World is preparing for a new Halloween season with a renewed proposal that raises the intensity of the experience and expands its entertainment offering. From September 19 to November 15, PortAventura Park will transform its areas with new elements of terror and proposals for the whole family, among which the premiere of El Carnicero de Penitence, a new passage in Far West.
With this addition, Halloween will feature five terror passages: El Carnicero de Penitence, La Isla Maldita, La Muerte Viva, REC® Experience and Angkor: La leyenda del Rey Caníbal. The novelty adds an unprecedented story to the Penitence universe, set in the Far West of the late 19th century.
A new passage to take Far West terror to the next level
In the dusty town of Penitence, everyone knows the butcher. A reserved and seemingly respectable man whose shop supplies the local residents. But when several neighbours begin to disappear under strange circumstances, the Sheriff asks visitors for help to find out what is happening.
The route goes into the butcher’s home and business, where visitors will pass through different spaces inspired by a butcher’s shop and slaughterhouse from the second half of the 19th century. The setting, carefully detailed with elements typical of the period, will reinforce the immersion in the Far West universe.
The experience is designed to increase the suspense throughout the route, until discovering the secret the butcher has kept hidden for years. With a marked gore tone, the new passage adds a different register of terror to the existing offering and expands the Halloween experience at PortAventura World.
More new features for a renewed Halloween experience
The renewal of Halloween 2026 also extends to the rest of the park’s programming. The season will include a new show in the Saloon, as well as new street characters who will roam PortAventura Park.
Entertainment will play a leading role throughout the season, with an offering spread across Mediterrània, SésamoAventura, México and Far West, designed to enrich the Halloween experience throughout the entire visit.
A Halloween for all audiences
This season brings together proposals of different intensities so that families, young people and adults can experience the season in a different way.
The youngest visitors and families will once again find content such as Truco o Trato, Día de los Muertos, the Halloween Parade and different entertainment proposals and street characters, alongside more intense experiences such as the Scare Zone La Maldición del Emperador.
In this way, Halloween turns PortAventura World into an experience that goes far beyond the terror passages. For almost 60 days, the park will undergo a complete transformation, with special decoration in the different areas, shows adapted to the season, new characters, specific gastronomic proposals and exclusive Halloween products.
The resort, which pioneered the introduction of Halloween in Spain in the year 2000, thus reaches 27 years of history in a celebration that continues to evolve to offer new experiences to its visitors.
