Adventureland extends the fun with drone shows, Oktoberfest & Phantom Fall Fest

ALTOONA, Iowa — The 2026 season is far from over at Adventureland, The Home of Iowa’s Best Thrills. Guests still have plenty of opportunities to experience the park’s final weekends of Neon Nights before enjoying the return of fan-favorite events including Drone Shows, Oktoberfest, and Phantom Fall Fest.

Families have four more opportunities to enjoy Adventure Bay after dark during the debut season of Neon Nights. Running every Friday and Saturday through August 15, the nighttime event features rides after dark, specialty food and beverage options, immersive LED lighting and more. August 15 will be guests’ final chance to glow for it. Adventureland will celebrate the end of the summer season and transitions into fall with beloved events. Details include:

  • Drone Shows – On Friday, August 21 and Saturday, August 22, more than 300 drones will take to the night sky above the park’s Boulevard. Parkgoers can expect to see stunning designs that pay tribute to America’s 250th Celebration during the 20-minute drone shows. Each show will begin nightly just after 9 p.m.
  • Oktoberfest – the 12-year-long tradition is back and invites visitors 21 and older to bust out their best lederhosen and raise a glass. On Saturday, September 19, Oktoberfest will takeover the midways from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. offering beer, local bands, specialty food items, games galore, and the park’s most popular rides.
  • Phantom Fall Fest – Iowa’s Largest Halloween Event returns to the park on Saturday, September 26. Families are invited to come early for fall foods, trick or treating, and their favorite rides and attractions. Then, at 6 p.m. the fear kicks into gear with five haunted houses, four scare zones, and horror around every corner.

“There’s something special about Adventureland in late summer and fall,” said Mike Lusky, general manager of Adventureland. “From watching hundreds of drones light up the night sky to celebrating Oktoberfest with friends or experiencing the thrills of Phantom Fall Fest, every event offers a different way for families and thrill-seekers to make lasting memories before the season comes to a close.”
