ST. LOUIS — Electrocoin, Intercard’s UK distributor, will be at the 2026 EAG show at stand D46 in London January 13-15, 2026. They will showcase the Impulse Tap, the iTeller PlusXL kiosk and other great Intercard products. Visitors can learn why trend-setting UK amusement venues like Lane 7 rely on Intercard for innovative and dependable cashless technology that boosts revenues and improves customer service.
Intercard’s Impulse Tap hybrid reader makes payment even easier for amusement center customers, especially the increasing number who prefer credit cards to cash. Operators report that credit card use continues to grow at FECs and credit card users spend more.
Impulse readers help proprietors increase revenues by capturing the business of “impulse” players who just want to play a few quick games without buying a game card. The Impulse gives these customers the same ease-of-use as game card users; they simply tap their credit card to the reader to play the game.
“In arcades the Impulse has increased overall game revenue by as much as 20% by capturing the business of impulse players,” says Intercard CEO Scott Sherrod. “They have traditionally used cash but that’s becoming rarer as FECs increasingly move from coin-op to cashless technology.”
“The use of cashless systems in amusement centres is growing every day,” says Gabino Stergides, president of Electrocoin, Intercard’s UK distributor. “We are seeing the use of credit card readers on individual machines as well as existing customers converting their operations to cashless systems. The UK government is considering adjusting the price per play on coin pushers to include those that would require multiple coins, e.g., £1.50. This would be a big incentive for operators to switch to cashless systems since coin pushers are a staple of UK seaside arcades.”
