Inspiration comes from everywhere and it is what drives not only our dreams but our innovations and creations that we leave for the world to see. Inspiration creates the vision that we build a piece of our future on.
Does it come from the laughter of a child as they ride their first Tilt-A-Whirl or from the smile of someone you love as they walk beside you under the scent of cotton candy and waffle cones? Do the dreams that create tomorrow’s entertainment stem from witnessing the realized dreams of others and their innovations? Or, will midway lights shine brighter and more colorful for the next generation because a wide-eyed child today grows up just to wonder “What if…?”
The amusement midway is built on innovations and dreams, inventions and inspirations. We, as an industry, build on what’s come before to create something greater. We strive to recapture the magic we first felt when we stepped under the lights and sounds of a touring carnival or family amusement park, and magnify it for our own children and the world ahead.
As we slide into the holiday season, magic and dreams are in plentiful supply. While the innovations of the industry were on display at IAAPA Expo 2022 in Orlando — and again during the upcoming IAFE Trade Show — many of the dreams of tomorrow’s family entertainment are born in the precious moments we’ll spend with our families during the approaching holidays.
Listen to the children’s laughter. Enjoy the smiles and glistening eyes of those who hold our heart. Embrace the moments with family eager to visit. Our family and loved ones are the key to the inspirations that we will carry with us as we dream up more fun, brighter moments and relaxing days ahead for families to enjoy in the years to come via our beloved industry.
