Carowinds opens Fall Season with return of signature fall events and festive fun for all ages

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — As summer gives way to fall, Carowinds will once again transform the state line into the Carolinas’ premier seasonal destination with the return of fan-favorite fall events, Tricks and Treats and SCarowinds. Both events are included with park admission and open this weekend through Nov. 1.

“From day to night, fall is one of the most exciting times of the year to visit the park, and this year, we’re continuing to elevate the guest experience by delivering a lineup that appeals to everyone,” said Bridgette Bywater, president of Carowinds. “Combined with our world-class rides and authentic seasonal flavors, we’ve created the ultimate collection of fall experiences in one location.”

During the Day: Tricks and Treats
Families can enjoy Tricks and Treats, Carowinds’ kid-friendly Halloween celebration, on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 12 through Nov. 1. With all the fun of Halloween and none of the fear, activities and entertainment are geared toward younger guests and include:

  • Patch’s Pumpkin Patch – Pick and design your own mini-pumpkin masterpiece
  • Trick-or-Treat Trail – Collect candy and meet characters along the way
  • Phantom Foam Pit – Get bubbly at a ghostly foam party
  • Mask Maker’s Mash – Make a spooky mask with arts and crafts
  • The Costume Contest – Dress in your finest Halloween attire for a chance to win
  • Skelebration Dance Party – Show off your moves with a lively dance party
  • Clean Up Crew (NEW) – Interactive comedy troupe ridding the park of spooks
  • The Spectral Sisters – Soulful singing with New Orleans harmonies and jazzy humor
  • Meet and Greet with the PEANUTS™ Gang – Hugs, high-fives and photos with the PEANUTS™ gang

Fresh off last year’s Camp Snoopy expansion, which included a new family launch roller coaster and interactive water ride, families can also enjoy themed games, decor, photo ops, seasonal foods and Carowinds’ world-class attractions.

During the Evening: SCarowinds
As darkness falls, thick fog fills the midways as more than 300 monsters and 17 haunted attractions transform Carowinds from a theme park into a scream park. This season, the Carolinas’ largest Halloween event is bigger than ever with eight new terrifying experiences, including:

  • Jason: Blood Reign (Haunted Maze)
  • Carnevil (Scare Zone)
  • Lost Souls (Scare Zone)
  • Restricted (Scare Zone)
  • The Resurgence (Opening Show)
  • Blade Drummers (Show)
  • Sinister Slide Squad (Show)
  • Incantations with the Enchantress (Show)

Headlining this season’s new attractions, SCarowinds will debut Jason: Blood Reign, an all-new haunted maze featuring one of horror’s most iconic villains, Jason Voorhees. This is the second SCarowinds attraction to feature a blockbuster horror movie franchise, following last season’s addition of The Conjuring: Beyond Fear, which returns this season.

Admission to SCarowinds includes all rides, live shows, scare zones, street entertainment and Tricks and Treats. Guests will need to purchase a Haunted Attractions Pass for entry into haunted mazes. The Conjuring: Beyond Fear is a SCREAMium attraction that requires a reservation and is not included with park admission or a Haunted Attractions Pass.
