PITTSBURGH, Pa. — The Kennywood gates are creaking open once again as Phantom Fall Fest turns the fear up to 10 for 22 nights beginning on Saturday, Sept. 12. This season, visitors are invited to do Halloween their way as Kennywood offers new daytime activities, a delicious fall tasting experience, beloved rides, and the park’s signature haunted houses and scare zones.
This year, visitors will be delighted by Trick-or-Treating in Ghostwood Estate. The whole family is invited to meet not-so-spooky spirits, collect candy, and navigate Kennywood’s most haunted hideaway in an all-new light. During the day, guests can also eat their way around the lagoon during Kennywood’s new Fall Fest Tasting Experience. The tasting event will run on Saturdays and Sundays from opening until 6 p.m., and feature five unique tasting booths. Details include:
- Apple Grove – A sweet stop for classic fall flavors, Apple Grove serves up warm and comforting treats like a baked apple dumpling topped with vanilla ice cream and caramel, pumpkin cheesecake with pecans, cinnamon sugar churro bites, and hot apple cider.
- Cinnamon Street – Cozy up with the flavors of fall at Cinnamon Street, featuring maple-glazed sweet potato waffle fries, a hearty pork belly skillet, and cinnamon pumpkin bread pudding.
- Potatoes and Pints – A Pittsburgh-inspired stop for savory fall favorites, Potatoes and Pints serves a hearty kielbasa and potato skillet, classic cheese and potato pierogies with sautéed onions and sour cream, and a sweet apple cider cupcake.
- Pretzel Bakery – Guests can indulge in Oktoberfest-inspired favorites at Pretzel Bakery, featuring warm Bavarian pretzels with bier cheese, bratwurst and sauerkraut served on a pretzel roll, and a festive fall cannoli topped with harvest sprinkles.
- Smokey Hollow – Smoky, savory flavors take center stage at Smokey Hollow, where guests can dig into smoked mac and cheese with sliced pork sausage, three-bean chili topped with cheddar cheese and a caramel chocolate brownie with smoked bacon.
The fear kicks into gear each night beginning at 6 p.m. as seven sinister haunts and four scare zones come to life. New for 2026, Lord Kenneth Ghostwood has opened his estate as he invites brave visitors to explore the property like never before, with scares lurking in the shadows. Visitors will abandon the buggy and ghost blaster and travel on foot through the dark. Kennywood’s other newest haunted addition, Detached, returns for its second season and invites brave guests to enter the Puppet Master’s toy shop.
Other fan-favorite haunted attractions including mAlice in Wonderland Unleashed, Shady Grove, Dark Shadows, Voodoo Bayou, and Kennyville Cemetery will be open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6 p.m. until close. Guests can also enjoy more than 30 rides and attractions including The Steel Curtain, Black Widow, Phantom’s Revenge, Jack Rabbit, and more.
“We’re giving guests more ways than ever to experience Phantom Fall Fest this year,” said Ricky Spicuzza, Kennywood General Manager. “For the first time, families can start their day with trick-or-treating in Ghostwood Estate and taste their way around the Lagoon with our all-new Fall Fest Tasting Experience, featuring five unique stops and seasonal flavors. Then, as the sun goes down, the park transforms with the new Ghostwood Estate: Open House, seven haunted houses, four scare zones and thrilling rides in the dark.”
Phantom Fall Fest will run on select days from Saturday, September 12 through Sunday, November 1. Parkgoers will be able to enjoy the park from 6 p.m. until 11 p.m. on Fridays, 12 p.m. until 11 p.m. on Saturdays and 12 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Sundays.
