Kemah Boardwalk ranked top Houston attraction

The Kemah Boardwalk, a unique 60-acre dining and entertainment complex located on Galveston Bay, was recently named the No. 1 Houston-area attraction on the 2011 Houston Business Journal’s list of top attractions. The list combined all free and paid attractions in the Houston area and resulted with over three million admissions.

Guests stay entertained with free live performances and events year-round, and 13 thrilling rides including: The Boardwalk Bullet Rollercoaster, Bouncer, Pharaoh’s Fury, Aviator, Century Ferris Wheel, Balloon Wheel, Red Baron, Kemah Train, a Double Decker Carousel, 140-ft. Drop Zone, Inverter, Boardwalk Tower and Wipeout. Families can also enjoy a nice cruise on Galveston Bay in their 117-ft. luxury yacht, Boardwalk FantaSea, or experience a thrill ride on the 70-ft. speedboat, Boardwalk Beast.

Visitors will not go hungry, with 12 restaurants to choose from, ranging from Mexican food and seafood to Sushi and steaks, and many with outdoor, waterfront patios perfect for alfresco dining. Restaurants include: Cadillac Bar, Aquarium Restaurant, Landry’s Seafood House, Lighthouse Buffet, Red Sushi & Hibachi Grill, Saltgrass Steak House, The Original Joe’s Crab Shack, The Pizza Oven, Bayside Grille, The Flying Dutchman, Sweet Scoops and Starbucks. The Boardwalk is also home to 25 retail stores, carts and kiosks; a 4D Theater; a 52-guestroom hotel, The Boardwalk Inn; a 424 slip marina; and more!
