Cal Expo lights up the sky at the Independence Day Pyrospectacular

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – California Expo, home to the California State Fair, is hosting the 13th annual Sacramento Independence Pyrospectacular Celebration.

The event, produced in collaboration with the City and County of Sacramento, is touted as being the largest-scale fireworks display in the area. This is the 13th annual July 4 fireworks celebration.

Along with the fireworks display, there will be live music from local bands Two Steps Down, Todd Morgan and The Emblems, and Kattywompus in the grandstand area before the display. The gates will open at 5:30 p.m. Two Steps Down performs at 6 p.m. Todd Morgan and the Emblems perform at 7 p.m. Kattywompus performs at 8 p.m. Fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m.

Admission is free to the event, which, in a way, ushers in the California State Fair, which is set for July 12-29. The fair features an abundance of entertainment including rides from Butler Amusements, Fairfield, Calif., the company which provides the midway for the fair. Butler Amusements will supply just under 70 rides at the fair.
