Amusement Today remembers Sherrie Brammall (1949 – 2012)

Sherrie Beth Brammall, age 63, of Canyon Lake, Texas, died on Thursday, April 19, 2012.

Sherrie was the loving and devoted wife of 42 years to Shawn, mother of Shane (Jennie) and Ian (Evin), and loving grandmother to Mason, Finnegan and Marilyn Brammall. A graduate of Ohio University, Sherrie was a successful journalist who served as Director of Communications at Schilitterbahn Waterparks for many years helping to build its reputation to national and international stature. Sherrie was an active volunteer with IAAPA (The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions) and served on both the Communications and Government Relations committees. Most recently she was the producer of IAAPA’s “News Flash,” a daily online newsletter. Sherrie was an active member of the Central Texas Community.

Sherrie was a passionate Master Gardener who created stunning gardens and appreciated the beauty in all people and things. She was a loving and devoted daughter and sister and is also survived by her mother, Marilyn Tompkins; sister, Gay Kaminski; brothers, Douglass Tompkins, Jack Tompkins and Todd Tompkins. She was a beloved and fun-loving “Aunt Sherrie” to numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jack W. Tompkins and brother’s Mike Tompkins and David Tompkins.

The family will be holding a Celebration of Life Saturday May 5th, 2012 at the family home in Canyon Lake.
