Knott's Berry Farm debuts expanded Boardwalk section

BUENA PARK, Calif. — On Thursday May 30, Knott’s Berry Farm debuted its multi-million dollar Boardwalk expansion. The new area further enhances the feeling of strolling down a colorful California Boardwalk fun zone filled with amusements, games, and fun food offerings. The addition to the Boardwalk section was made possible by the removal of Perilous Plunge, the Intamin Mega Splash Shoot the Chute ride that had been installed in 2000.
Additions to the Knott’s Boardwalk area include:
Coast Rider — Mack Wild Mouse coaster
Surfside Gliders — Larson Flying Scooter
Pacific Scrambler — Eli Bridge Scrambler

The Mack Wild Mouse and Larson Flying Scooter rides are new acquisitions. The Eli Scrambler was in storage after having been removed to make way for Pony Express. The Scrambler was refurbished by Knott’s maintenance before being returned to the park.
The 1990 Vekoma Boomerang, also in the Boardwalk section, received a fresh coat of paint with a new green and yellow color scheme.
Knott’s is finishing up a multi-million dollar refurbishment to its classic Timber Mountain Log Ride. Closed since January, the popular flume ride is expected to open this weekend.
