Adventure Aquarium’s safety measures & reservations online

By | July 13, 2020

CAMDEN, N.J. — Adventure Aquarium will reopen to members on Wednesday, July 15 and Thursday, July 16, and for all guests on Friday, July 17 with added health and safety measures.

“We’ve spent months thoughtfully preparing to reopen, and although the experience will be different, we’re confident these necessary changes will help guests feel safe so they can focus on enjoying and exploring life underwater,” said Adventure Aquarium’s Executive Director, Vince Nicoletti. “As one of the largest aquariums in the country, Adventure Aquarium’s galleries, outdoor spaces and seating areas combined with reduced capacities will allow guests to spread out and have more space to enjoy the aquarium.”

We are limiting the aquarium and exhibit capacities to 25 percent, which will provide for appropriate social distancing and complies with the Governor’s current Executive Order. Two entrances, one for members and the other for general admission guests, as well as one-way traffic flow will be used to further reduce any congestion. New floor graphics and directional signs have been placed to maintain social distancing between groups. Areas where adequate physical distancing cannot be achieved, including the 3D theatre and play areas, will remain closed at this time.

Members and general admission guests will be required to reserve the date and time they wish to visit the aquarium. Starting today, Friday, July 10 at 10 a.m. EDT, reservations can be made at adventureaquarium.com/reservations. Additional details and a “how-to” video will be posted to our website and social media to assist guests with this new process.

Prior to entering the aquarium, guests and employees must have a touchless temperature screening. In accordance with the Governor’s current Executive Order, guests will be required to wear a mask. Children two and under are not required to wear a mask at any time.

Adventure Aquarium has worked closely with our food service partner, Aramark, to develop a safe and hygienic dining experience. The Flying Fish Beer Garden, café and Penguin Park will have food options available for outdoor dining only. Service enhancements and modifications include upgraded technology for mobile ordering, installation of self-ordering kiosks, contactless pick-up with text message alerts when the order is ready, and reconfiguring outdoor seating for proper distancing.

Additionally, cleaning procedures have been increased, with high touch areas cleaned more frequently and hand sanitization stations positioned throughout the aquarium.

Adventure Aquarium appreciates guests’ continued support and for being patient as we adjust to this new normal. By working together, we can create an enjoyable experience for guests and employees. Further information on all safety and operational changes is available at adventureaquarium.com/playsafe.
