Sunkid becomes a provider of mountain coasters

Sunkid and Brandauer agree to continue the summer toboggan run business as a part of Sunkidworld.

Summer toboggan runs of the Brandauer brand are among the most-frequently used facilities world-wide. Brandauer GmbH, founded by Ing. Josef Brandauer in 1980, opened its first run in Abtenau, Austria, in 1996. More than 50 facilities have since been installed in many countries around the world and have become a complete success for all operators. 

Continuing this successful path and transferring the company into reliable hands were decisive points for Ing. Josef Brandauer in the decision of relying on Sunkid as a successor. With the beginning of this year, the Brandauer summer toboggan runs have now become part of Sunkidworld.

(FH) Emanuel Wohlfarter said, clearly content. “The summer toboggan run fits us outstandingly well and enables us to further improve our position as a provider of year-round leisure experiences for the entire family.”
The direct proximity to the main production site of Sunkid-Bruckschlögl in Bad Goisern brings about plenty of synergies. The production site and previous employees of the summer toboggan run section will continue to remain in Rußbach near Salzburg. 

The Brandau Mountain Coaster
The trademark of the Brandau summer toboggan run “Mountain Coaster“ is its unique monorail system that not only offers unique ride dynamics but is also particularly cost-efficient and easy to remove. 

The low weight of the toboggans also permits simple mountain transport even using the existing infrastructure of T-bar, chair and cabin lifts. This not only clearly saves on construction costs, but also permits year-round use of facilities already built. 

Route design of the Mountain Coasters is customized to the situation on site and the customer’s wishes. The system must be constructed on a minimum slope of 5 to 7%. The Mountain Coaster can be set up on any substrate, however, no matter if it is rock or earth.
