Europa-Park named best park in Europe by TripAdvisor

RUST, Germany — Tourists and travellers from all across the world have made their decision: Europa-Park in Rust is not only the most popular theme park in Germany but is now also number one in Europe. One of the world’s largest travel sites, TripAdvisor, has presented the Traveller’s Choice Awards for Attractions for the first time in 2013 and Europa-Park has come out on top.
Approximately 1,260 landmarks, parks, museums and amusement parks worldwide were honored at the Traveller’s Choice Awards for Attractions in 2013. The travel site TripAdvisor announced the winners at the end of June. In the “Amusement Parks” category, the 94 hectare Europa-Park won first place in Germany and was also voted number one in Europe. In the international rankings, Germany’s biggest theme park was beaten only by the Discovery Cove located in Orlando, Florida. “We appreciate the great results at the Traveller’s Choice Awards for Attractions,” said Dominik Seitz, spokesman of Europa-Park. “It is nice to see that not only our Hotel Resort scores highly with the TripAdvisor users, but that Europa-Park also does very well.”
The winners of the Traveller’s Choice Awards for Attractions in 2013 were based on millions of traveller reviews of the attractions listed on TripAdvisor in each category, evaluated over a twelve-month period.
With more than 200 million visitors every month, TripAdvisor’s websites are said to make up the largest travel community in the world. Over 100 million traveller reviews and opinions about more than 2.5 million lodgings, restaurants and attractions are available online.
