RUST, Germany—Representatives of Disney recently visited Europa-Park to exchange ideas, discuss the current situation of the theme park industry and see the latest developments of Germany’s largest theme park. Meg Crofton, President Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Operations, U.S. and France; Philippe Gas, CEO Disney Paris; Joe Schott, COO Disney Paris; and Claire Bilby, VP Marketing and Sales Disney Paris spent a whole day at Europa-Park and enjoyed the tour and talks with the Mack family. The experts from Disney were deeply impressed by the continuous development and expansion of family-operated Europa-Park.

The next major expansion at Europa-Park is already under construction: in cooperation with French filmmaker Luc Besson, “Arhtur – In the Minimoys Kingdom” will be opened with the start of the 2014 summer season. The most intricate indoor attraction in the entire history of Europa-Park will be hidden under an enormous dome on a magical island surrounded by two streams and Grimm’s enchanted forest. It will feature a dark ride, a kids’ free-fall tower, a carousel and a large slide area as well as a snack and a shopping area.
