By amusementtoday | October 20, 2011
Frank O’Connell, general manager of the Hersheypark Entertainment Complex, passed away following a heart attack on Oct. 18, 2011. He was 48.
A longtime member of the HE&R family, Frank first joined the company in 1978. Having worked in a number of positions throughout his tenure, including his long-held leadership position as G.M. of the Hersheypark Entertainment Complex – Frank was most recently promoted to G.M. of Attractions and Entertainment in 2010. As an inspirational leader to those he worked with, Frank will certainly be remembered for his love of and dedication to the Hersheypark Entertainment Complex. He often said how blessed he felt to work with such outstanding individuals, day in and day out.
A loss like this is felt on so many different levels; he was a husband, father, family member, friend and coworker. Regardless of how well anyone knew Frank, the qualities that he brought as a person and as professional will be sorely missed.
Frank is survived by his wife, Lisa; and children, Ashley and Aleisha.
