Kennywood’s Phantom Fright Nights Returns September 28

WEST MIFFLIN, PA – From dark corners within Kennywood, the Phantom emerges, casting a foreboding pall over the park. Phantom Fright Nights return with a vengeance for its 17th season.

The Halloween event named one of the amusement industry’s best by Amusement Today and USA Today stalks back into Kennywood on Friday, September 28, continuing on Fridays, Saturdays and select Sundays until October 28.

Phantom Fright Nights is lauded for its dedicated team committed to providing pulse-pounding scares through gruesome makeup and costume designs, along with the jumps and jolts from the haunted houses and signature Kennywood rides. The scares start early, as the new Welcoming Committee will populate the park’s entrance tunnel as never before, with more characters representing each of PFN’s 10 haunted areas lurking through the strobe-lit fog, on the hunt for unsuspecting guests.

“Our team of more than 250 makeup artists, costume designers and scare actors give their all every fall to make Phantom Fright Nights the highlight of Pittsburgh’s Halloween season,” says Director of Ride Operations Marie Ruby, creative director for Phantom Fright Nights. “When coupled with our roller coasters and other one-of-a-kind rides, PFN provides a total package of thrills that has few rivals.”

Tickets to Phantom Fright Nights are $33.99 at the park entrance, with discounts available through www.kennywood.com/pfn and by picking up coupons at local Spirit Halloween locations. College students and select Kennywood Season Passholders get in for half-price on the first (Sept. 28-29) and last (Oct. 26-28) weekends of Phantom Fright Nights, along with Sunday, October 7. Students and Passholders must have valid ID to receive the discount.
