Special Olympics Power Pull Competition at Great America on Saturday

The annual Special Olympics Power Pull fundraiser will take place Saturday, July 20, at 9:30 a.m. at California’s Great America, with $30,000 expected to be raised. The Power Pull will take place outside Great America’s front gate.

Teams of 15, accompanied by one Special Olympics athlete, will attempt to pull a 38,000-pound Central Concrete truck and a 66,000-pound Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety fire truck, using only their strength and will to compete.

The Power Pull is a Law Enforcement Torch Run fundraiser for Special Olympics Northern California and is the 11th annual Power Pull is sponsored by Central Concrete. The public can purchase discounted $30 Great America tickets and organizations can still register for the Power Pull at PowerPullSO.com. An open registration will take place from 8-9:30 a.m. on Saturday at Great America.

Participating teams include local law enforcement, CrossFit gyms, fire and safety, construction companies and high schools. Awards will be presented to the three fastest teams.
