Portion of Hersheypark in the Dark ticket sales will be donated to assist Hurricane Sandy relief efforts

Hershey, Pa. — Hershey Entertainment & Resorts (HE&R) is proud to announce a partnership with the American Red Cross to help assist those throughout the Northeast affected by Hurricane Sandy. HE&R will be donating $5 from every ticket purchased at Hersheypark or Hersheypark.com during this weekend’s Hersheypark in the Dark event.

“On behalf of my colleagues at HE&R, we are proud to partner with the American Red Cross to help assist those throughout the Northeast affected by Hurricane Sandy,” said Bill Simpson, President and Chief Operating Officer of HE&R. “Many of us have family and friends whose lives have changed as a result of this storm. This initiative is a result of our employees wanting to do something to help those in need.”

Hersheypark in the Dark is a family-friendly event featuring more than 50 rides and attractions, live entertainment, Treatville for children 12 and younger, and admission to Creatures of the Night at ZooAmerica North American Wildlife Park. The event is open Friday, November 2 from Sunday, November 4. Hours of operation are 5 to 10 p.m. on Friday, 2 to 10 p.m. on Saturday and 2 to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
Ticket prices are $31.95 for regular admission (ages 9 to 54), and $21.95 for junior (ages 3 to 8 ) or senior (ages 55 and older) admission. Children ages 2 and younger are free. Parking is $8.

“Hurricane Sandy will be a very large and costly relief response, and there are many people who are in need of assistance,” said Jill Troutman, Red Cross. “Through HE&R’s donation, people can help those impacted by this storm and, at the same time, enjoy the Hersheypark in the Dark festivities. In addition, anyone can directly contribute to the relief effort by texting REDCROSS to 90999 to give $10 to American Red Cross Disaster Relief.”
