Lost City of Atlantis erupts to life at Mt. Olympus waterpark

By | April 9, 2012

Mt. Olympus Water and Theme Park of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin will expand with a legendary AquaPlay Giant RainFortress.

The Lost City of Atlantis will erupt with the first AquaPlay Eruption in the Dells, surging water 100 feet (30 m) high into the air! The Eruption will surge from a custom made, fully themed “volcano”, before cascading down over the multi-level interactive play structure below.

Overlooking it all, a 2D hand carved Poseidon, god of the sea and mythological “earth-shaker” sits with trident in hand. Detailed to look weathered and distressed by the sea, this realistic theming truly demonstrates the talent and craftsmanship of WhiteWater’s in-house theming team. Other elements that will bring the legend to life include an 8 foot (2 m), 317 gallon (1200 litres) tipping bucket, pyramid roofs and temple entryways, hand carved seahorses and more.

Mt. Olympus’ AquaPlay Giant RainFortress will also offer over a dozen waterslides including crowd-pleasers like the Champagne Bowl, Boomerango, Family Raft Ride and Multi-Lane Mat Racer. No longer a myth, WhiteWater will help bring the Lost City of Atlantis into existence this Memorial Day long weekend.
